UpStart Poster Project

UpStart is a non-profit arts collective which put creativity at the centre of public consciousness during the Irish General Election Campaign in 2011, by reinterpreting the spaces commonly used for displaying election campaign posters in Dublin City; putting up hundreds of images and texts from artists, writers, designers & other interested parties on large-sized election posters.

UpStart's objectives were to encourage a debate on the role of the arts in this state, highlighting the importance of creativity and ingenuity when society is in need of direction and solutions, and emphasising the value of the arts to public life; believing the future development of the country requires a healthy cultivation of the Arts.

UpStart comprises artists & writers from Ireland & abroad and are non-aligned to any political party.
